Are you the next Steven Spiel berg or Peter Jackson? If you’re hooked on making movies and dream of holding a Golden Globe in your hand, then the Thanet International Film Festival is offering you an Award-Winning Opportunity.
The Thanet International Filmmaker Film Festival is a unique event, celebrating the best and most popular independent and studio films from around the globe. This year, as an additional opportunity for those on the first rung of the filmmaking ladder, the festival is organizing a short film competition for all budding student filmmakers in the UK. For students wanting to showcase their film creation skills at the 2011 Film Festival which is held in Thanet, so now is the time to get involved.
The Festival runs from October 12th to 15th and the nominated films will be screened during the festival with awards for top honours being given out at the red carpet awards ceremony on October 15th.
Students can choose their own subjects and films can be between 5 minutes and 30 minutes in length. They will be judged in three age groups and in four categories – Documentary, Music, Foreign language and Animation.
The approximate age groups are school years 9, 10 and 11 followed by school years 12 and 13, while the university and college age groups will include anyone aged 17 or over. Entries close on 15th June 2011.
